I just keep mine under my fluorescent lights and water sparingly. I read somewhere that they can be hung up bareroot and planted again in the spring. Sorry I can't remember where I read the particulars. Try Googling "overwintering Geraniums". That's where I found good info.

I keep one in a west facing window and let it dry out a bit between waterings.

My oldest Geranium is going on 6 yrs. My secret is, keeping them cool to chilly (even cold) during winter months..placed in south/west windows. Withholding fertilizer until Feb/early March. And letting soil dry completely. I repot, 2 sizes up when roots fill the pot to the point of being rootbound.

Thank you for this thread. My mother also successfully keeps hers for years, overwintering in an unheated sunporch in zone 6. They were still blooming when I was there for Thanksgiving

I brought one of mine that I especially liked in once it got cold this year and have half killed it. Reading this thread, I am not keeping it dry enough. I'll stop the overwatering today!
