Bestt to move them when they are dormant.
If they are in large pots, just contact the Local YMCA and ask if they could send a 'team' to help move it.
They do a lot of public service type things like that.

I'd wait until it goes dormant. Figs are very forgiving.

Hi sakura2006, Its best to wait until all the leaves drop. However figs are extremely hardy and can be moved any time of year and still thrive as long as you keep a nice root ball.

Like any tree the longer they are established the more they will fruit. The first year after a move can be fairly disappointing in ripe fruit yields. Each year there after you should expect more and more fruit.

When they start to leaf out in the spring lay down a heavy mulch of composted leaves and composted de-smelled steer manure.
