I certainly have been pleased with other similar plants from them, but never ordered apples (except maybe some apple rootstock).

The plants I received looked fine and the ones I've had for a while have grown fine. I must admit, though, I am very concerned about the accusation of switching labels. Usually I am ordering EXACTLY what I want and wouldn't even want an open substitution far less an unknown and mislabeled selection.

I have used OGW many times but I live close by so I buy in person. I make it clear that I won't buy anything until I see it first. I don't get to pick out the ones that I want, but they generally give me good stuff, possibly knowing that I won't accept inferior specimens. Once they tried to give me potted trees when I wanted bare root. An exchange on the spot was done. Now, if I want an apple tree I specifically ask for a whip. That way I can train it as I please and won't get a 6-foot tree with a single viable branch and no buds.
In general, I've been happy with what I've gotten.
As with any mail order source, you run the risk of poorly structured and damaged trees.

I am writing here because of something that happened at the Harvest weekend festival that One Green World had recently.I planned on buying plants over the phone,which I did on Friday because then they will bring them to a shopping center in nearby Portland on Sunday.I wanted to do this because I was planning on staying in the area the whole weekend and didn't want to have the plants in my car til leaving the area.When ordering on Friday,among the plants I wanted were a Saijo Persimmon and a Coolidge or Robert Pineapple Guava which are self pollinating.Immediately the guy taking the order said those two Guavas weren't available until spring.I said okay,then I'll wait on those.
I went to the Orchard Show in nearby Canby after spending time at OGW Saturday morning.At the Orchard Show,OGW had a booth with someone selling plants.There were some Pineapple Guavas there,but not Coolidge or Robert.Then the guy says he thinks they have at least 400 Coolidge at OGW.He then makes a phone call and they confirmed it.So I went back and bought one.
Now I'm hoping I did get a Coolidge after reading some of the above posts and they didn't do a switchola.400 plants is a lot for someone taking orders to overlook.Also,when buying the Pineapple Guava in person,it was only then I was told they didn't have the Saijo Persimmon.Brady

Sorry to hear about the trouble you had Brady.

I don't mean to try to minimize anything, but in my experience the so-called self-pollinating pineapple guavas don't bear fruit without cross-pollination anyway, at least not indoors using the paintbrush method. My plant was a nice large Nazemetz, that I later got rid of.

Over the years I've seen similar complaints on this forum regarding self-fertile varieties, especially of kiwis, passionfruit, mulberries, che, etc... it seems to depend a lot on where you are.

To make a long story short, if you're serious about getting fruit, buying two mutually-pollinating varieties is the best way to go with most things.

I live in Mobile, AL and bought what is supposed to be a Washington Naval orange tree in a gal pot from onegreenworld.com yesterday (my 1st time to do business with them). Tried to call them this AM and waiting for a call back with some questions about the purchase. Has anyone else bought an orange tree from them. I'd like to hear how experience was.
