Summer Pruning Fall Blooms???

I live in Southern California and in late August I completed the summer pruning on my fruit trees. This is only the second year that I've tried the summer pruning on my 5 year old trees. The pruning encouraged a little flush of growth but to my surprise my 2 apricots, pluots, and Santa Rosa plums are in full bloom!! Is this normal for summer pruning and is it possible to get another crop from these off-season blooms?

I should mention that it's been a very dry year so I've been hand watering. We're having a little rain today but it's the first rain we've had since a little shower in April. It's also been 5 or 6 months since I fertilized.

Thanks,

Andrea
