Consumer Guide Mower Recommendations

Long story short, after nearly 20 years my 38" MTD rider has finally given up and I've spent the last couple of weeks trying to replace it...and I'm amazed at just how hard this is becoming. I'm cutting a relatively challenging 2 acres or so...challenging because it has a pond with a fairly steep bank on one side and also because the whole lot slopes noticeably, but not steeply and I have lots of trees...a true park-like setting. For these reasons I think I'm better off with a tractor although a ZTR sure sounds like fun. Anyway, to my question....in frustration I've turned to Consumer Guide...is this a good idea or not? They've rated several Craftsman tractors in there as best buys...but I'm just a bit skeptical about doing business with Sears and am concerned about service after the sale. I'd like to think a Craftsman will suffice because the price is right, but is the durability going to be there? I'm also considering the Toro Z4200, whichs looks very nice by comparison, but I'm a bit concerned that any ZTR might not be a good match for my terrain. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
