I wouldn't worry about the nitrogen levels (which can fluctuate). Your soil test looks pretty good to me. I am about to send a sample to Cornell shortly as well. I wish I had your results!

No expert, but hereÂs my thoughts, Other opinions may vary. First, I commend you for getting a good soil test. Now you can feed your lawn what it needs without over-applying stuff it doesnÂt need. Nitrogen levels are not given in soil tests because it is so variable. That is, It could be high if you just fertilized or low if its been awhile. Nitrogen needs constant replacement. Your PH is great. No need to lime. Phosphorus and potassium look good. Their recommendation was for 3 lbs N per 1000 sq ft per year. Use a balanced fertilizer slightly heavy with Potassium (K Â the third number) as compared to Phosphorus (P Â the second number) Something like 20 Â 5 Â 6 You donÂt need much more Phos or Potassium . As for iron, I donÂt know, you have some, is it enough ? donÂt know. Since there was no recommendation Iron, its probably OK Apply most of your fertilizer in the fall, two applications, One application in the spring, perhaps with your crabgrass preventer. If you want to apply iron, wait until next May 15 Â June 1 or so, and spread some Milorganite according to package instructions, Milorganite contains 4 percent Iron, is a mild organic fertilizer with lots or micro nutrients. You have a great PH for a lawn. Do not lime.
