Myrtle?

14 years ago

{{gwi:140592}}

This is a tree, approx. 4 to 5 metres high by about the same wide. The flower is very similar to that of crepe myrtle - the petals ruffled and delicate looking in the same way. They also have no scent. The form of the tree, however, is quite different from that of crepe myrtle; it's broadspreading rather than decidedly upright. It's growing in a garden bordering sub-tropical - US zone about 9 1/2. Any suggestions as to id. pls.

Regards
