Crinum I'd say.

Looks like it could be Hymenocallis (type of Spider Lily). I've had clumps get that big in my yard. Link below to one someone has of theirs. (Had to use a different link-GW won't let me use Dave's Grdn link)

I think you nailed it, would it do well being relocated? It is pretty big, and drops big chestnut sized bulbs that root up around it, and by looking at the pods tap root, wondering if it is work trying to dig it all out at that size.

Are those bulbs at the base? That would indicate Crinum or Amarcrinum. They have pretty flowers.

The ' chestnut sized Bulbs' nail it down to Crinum. Pack a lunch when you start to dig this monster up. Those bulbs can be two feet deep.

It is definitely Crinum asiaticum now that I have researched.

I am getting real familiar with the irrigation lines pulling all of this stuff out, and I know one line goes right under this plant.

I think I will try to move it down by the fence as a border, and break the different plants apart and try to do a hedge. It will be under a Giant Palm Tree, but it will be on the south side, where some roses are doing OK so hopefully that will be enough light.

I do like it just in the wrong place, and I want a little cluster of 3 Robellini's there.

Wouldn't a Robellini be a bit Spiky to plant that close to a pool?

There is actually plenty of room there, I put a yardstick next to that Crinum so you can get an idea of how big that thing is. This is the back of the pool too, not really a traffic area.

Please post a picture when that monster is out of the ground.

That's why I mentioned the irrigation lines, no pick axe for me on this job.

I already broke one shovel digging out a bunch of box woods that used to be topiary I guess, they were hurting.
