sticky leaves

Hey,

I noticed that my Phal gets sticky leaves.
Might I have some pests? (even though I cannot see anything on the leaf surface).

You have pests. Wash leaves with a soapy solution. Add a little alcohol for good measure. 8 parts water, 1 part 409, 1 part alcohol, Johnny Walker Black Label preferred.

Hi Nick. The solution you have suggested; does it really work or just you are just having some fun?

It really works but Johnnie Walker Black Label is not necessary, rubbing alcohol or any cheap ethanol or methanol works just as well.

My bugs got a margarita (water, dishwater soap, tequila :) )
We'll see if the leaves become sticky again.
Was curious if the whole mix is toxic and if I could water the orchid with that water, to choke the bugs hiding in between the roots.

It will kill bugs but not eggs. 3 days later you'll have a new crop emerging. That's why you have to treat every few days at least 3 times.
