Expired dialysis solution

I don't know if this is the best forum to ask this question but has anyone heard of expired or extra peritoneal dialysis solution being used on plants? My neighbor has boxes of the stuff and the office staff at the doctors said it was good for plants. I couldn't find anything on it on the web and wondered if anyone here had any feedback. . . thanks for your responses.

    I was told a long time ago that old total parenteral nutrition IV solution was good for plants. As I recall it sort of congealed and got gelatinous on the plant. Your solution is probably mostly dextrose (sugar) and then the minerals (salts). It is probably ok to wet your compost pile with but Personally I would not pour it directly on my plants.
