BTW, the better half will pick the winning caption in this round. A cool picture I had found on the internet ages ago... {{gwi:164333}}

prior to its release from the research lab, scientist implement intelligence testing on the ape X man. comprehensive skills proved challenging.

Ol' Roy would have to have some more hair of the dog if he thought he'd have a chance to win this game against Poofy.

OK Thinking Man, it's still CHECKMATE no matter how you slice the doggy biscuit.

What some of us may be doing in the sports lag time between the Super Bowl (RAH!) and the Daytona 500.

Poofy tells Ol'Roy: Looks like your coat is starting to come in nice and thick again after that mishap you had at the groomers.

Mike

An Ohio sports lull moment. No Stumpjumpin'. No (ewww) football. No NASCAR. And it is 13° F outside.

C3D :-)

The four paw(n) gambit will get 'em every time

"Get those hairy knees OFF the new ottoman!"

"I forget...why am I playing chess with my girlfriend's dog?...Oh, yeaaah"

The caption would read:- Arf arf....woof woof... arf arf arf...arf arf.....wooarf wooarf....woof. arf arf arf..woof!!!

Which translated from dog-speak means:-
"Come quickly hairy one and turn your head around the proper way.
Grannie's fell down the well AGAIN! You can finish that stupid one man game later!"

Everyone knows dogs cannot play chess. Snakes and Ladders...yes...but not chess!
"Horton"

LMAO @ the ApeX man and all the other hairy jokes!

But the Mrs. is picking this round and the winner is:

"The four paw(n) gambit will get 'em every time"

So ladies and gentlemen, boys & girls, Jeanner has got the floor....

Thank-you Mrs. Fi :^)

Here is one of my all time favorite bird photos (I wish I could say it was mine)....

{{gwi:164334}}

Woody suspected there was something going on between his Mrs. and the neighbor. He arrived home early on THE RED EYE to confront them about his suspicions.

"OWWWWW MY GAWD! There's that Khansa fella again. Everybody act NATURAL. CRAP! Does this shell make me look fat????"

In this edition of Birder's Magazine, the Wood Ducks visit Pee Wee's Playhouse.

Mike

LOL!!!!!! I can't compete at the moment!

My 1st impression:

Mrs. Woody, "Why DO you have that look in your eye?!"

"Hhmmppph...Take it to GQ you two..."

Turtle waiter to Mr& Mrs Drake, "Bad news, it's homemade soup again to-night".
"Good news is, we're not in it!"

"Oh, no, he DIDN'T!"

"Pttthh, Dude, we have featherth, not hairth. Don't pith off the wife."

"I said, 'Have you seen the HARE?', as in hasenfeffer, Dafty."

Brenda

Mrs "Horton" made me submit this one of hers.

"I know she is plain but she does good eggs"

"you really should consider a breath mint."

Oh I knew I was in trouble ... I can't decide!

I narrowed it down to three ...

In this edition of Birder's Magazine, the Wood Ducks visit Pee Wee's Playhouse from Mike.

And ...
"I know she is plain but she does good eggs" from Mrs Horton (amd why is it that if that had come from Mr. Horton I would have been offended but otherwise found it hilarious???)

And...
"you really should consider a breath mint." from FTM.

So I did eenie, meenie, minie, mo and the winner is (assuming I know my eenie, meenie, minie, mo's) ...

Mrs. Horton!!!

The torch is passed.

I like that one the best too Jeanner - good choice!

i just love the "expression" on that she duck! congrats mrs horton!

Mrs Horton is besides her self at winning this contest.
She wants me to thank everyone concerned and asked when will she see the cheque?

Here is a crowd scene to caption.

{{gwi:164335}}

LMAO...these are hysterical!

Horton, I think you should be a professional caption writer...you, semper and brenda (aka brandy) could make a killing as a writing trio - roflol!!!

"Prior to his surgery to remove the large hairy growth, Old Man McClintock seldom left the safety and security of his home." - this one killed me!

hahahaha Thanks for the AM laughs!

Thanks, but it's not my fault; I was born this way. Either that or my parents did something to me when I was young, depending on who you believe. :D

"The Ladies of Meerkat Manor eagerly awaited the arrival of The Bachelor"

or

"Unfortunately, they were not familiar with the International Gesture that roughly translates into, 'Danger, beHIND you, look out, there, not here, for crying out loud, habla ingles?!'"

Brenda

Congratulations, Mrs. Horton. Well done! :-)

The Meerkats now have come to Jeanners doors and say ....

"We don't want trouble. We have come for the cheque and we'll go.

C3D

TRICK or TREAT!

Too lazy to switch user names Mike

I know I can't enter this one officially because of insider status, but I would like to add this caption.

"The ladies of the colony wait in anticipation of ol'man Meer arriving back from his Viagra run."

One-little-two-little-three-little meerkats, four-little-five-little-six-little meerkats, seven-little-eight-little-HEY QUIT PUSHING!!!

well, until i read the other entries, mine was just "OOOOOOOOO..."

or
"(huff) fine, let's just play kings of the mountain, then."

The latest fad ... bowling with meerkats

"Meerkat? What's a Meerkat? Where...?"

Horton, please tell the Mrs that the cheque is in the mail *wink, wink*

Tara tara tara. Here is the winner of the latest and greatest caption contest.
There were again, soooooooo many very funny captions submitted.

But Mrs Horton did in fact choose my dis-allowed caption....muttering something about I only wish....!!???

However in the spirit of fair-play,integrity and aboveboardness......and the toss of a Loonie, the winner is Heather, with:-

"One-little-two-little-three-little meerkats, four-little-five-little-six-little meerkats, seven-little-eight-little-HEY QUIT PUSHING!!!"

Congratulations Heather and may the force be wit chew!
