Oddly enough, the NPK of rabbit manure is not all that far away from the NPK of alfalfa, the dietary staple of most domesticated rabbits :-) Of the most commonly utilized manures, rabbit rates the highest in nitrogen at around 2.5%

Another thing to consider is whether you have just rabbit poop, or rabbit poop plus bedding. Then, if you've got bedding, is it soaked with urine?

My rabbit manure comes from a shelter that uses wood stove pellets (basically compressed sawdust, as I understand it) for catching the bunny waste. When these pellets become soaked with urine, they immediately break down. There's also some hay (I haven't asked what kind, but I wonder if it's alfalfa) mixed in.

So, the way I look at it for my bunny poo source is this: The sawdust from the wood stove pellets will require extra nitrogen to break down. However, that sawdust is soaked with urine, which is high in nitrogen, so maybe it all balances out. The hay has some nitrogen in it, too. By the time I get this manure, it's been sitting for a while, so probably the breaking down process has begun, and may be pretty far along. Then again, nitrogen is pretty volatile, so did it do its job, or did it go away before the job was done?

So...what I'm getting at is that if you have straight rabbit manure, you can have a pretty good guess about the NPK ratings, depending on its age. If you have a mix like I do, you may not really know at all.

Either way, though, it's really good stuff, and it's not so "hot" that it will burn your plants if you use it directly.

I think Ron missed some decimal points in his post because I can find nothing that says rabbit manure has 70 percent Nitrogen. What I have says rabbit manure averages about 2.4 - 1.4 - 0.6 analysis, but that depends on what the rabbits are fed too.
