That looks great! Don't worry about the little lines. I've seen worse from folks fertilizing with a drop spreader. Once it all starts to grow a bit more, it should fill in just fine.

    That looks really good!

Are you kidding me, people pay big money for those type of stripes in their lawn. No worries, like turf toes said, it will fill in just fine.

    Keep up the good work!

It sure lends some credibility to the usefulness of the slit seeder, doesn't it? Most of the seed is coming up in the slits.

It looks like you went at 90 degree angles instead of 45 degree angles to each other. The lines are a little less noticeable if you do it the other way. Like the others said, it will fill in though.

If you look at the 3rd picture, you can actually see how I did it in three directions. I did the first two perpendicular to the driveway and then diagonally across. Those are the rows where the seed only worked from three of the tubes.

Then once I fixed the tubes I only had enough seed to do one more path, so that time I went parallele to the driveway. In the third picture, if you look close, you can see all three paths a little more clearly.

Congrats Parafly. You are going to have a most excellent lawn next year. Keep up the good work. Bill Hill

    Looking good!

I'm sad seeing all those leaves on the ground though. Cold weather will soon be upon us!

Get out the leaf blower and clean that stuff up! :-)

I think everyone will agree with me - the best thing about this is actually seeing lawn again!

It's been SO LONG since I have seen green grass! It looks great when I first pull up to the house because at that angle it looks like a nice short lawn, when you are in the 2nd floor of hte house or standing over the grass you can really see its a new field.

I wonder why it is that I don't have any weeds at all? (not complaining, obviously, just curious!) I'm hoping my grass thickens and continues to grow fast enough so I have minimal issue next year.

What's the fertilizing schedule like? I was going to fertilize in another week or so (i.e. day 30-35) which would be the beginning of October and then what, one more time in the beginning of November?

I would do another shot of starter, maybe Milorganite around day 30-ish.

Last feeding around the time of your last cut. The specifics on that are worthy of their own thread.
