Help me keep it alive

I got this plant back in February and it still has a bloom... I think it's a miniature phaleonopsis (not sure how to spell it). All I know about orchids is that they bloom and then tend to die. I've got a green thumb and this is my first orchid so I'd rather keep it alive. It appears to have a new little root coming out so I think it wants to live.
It came in a pot with no drainage and packed with 100% sphagnum moss as soil.
I bought it an orchid pot with holes in the sides and assume it can be repotted in orchid bark? Do I trim off the rotted roots at the bottom? Anyone point me to some good links to learn?
I've got some neglected cattleya orchids that my grandma divides so I do have bark and fertilizer...
Just looking for somewhere to start with this one.
Thanks in advance for any help.
