Did this damage happen over night? I've seen many phals with new leaves similar to this and all it often means is that the plant has red/purple flowers. Most fert damage I'm aware of in phals occurs at the roots.

That's said, even if it truly is fert damage, there's nothing you can do except let it grow out, learn your lesson, and move on. The damage has been done and it can't be undone. The plant will be fine, don't sweat it. You did the right thing by flushing the pot.

How much fertilizer did you use, exactly?

Just a thought you mention moving the plants to larger pots remember orchids prefer small pots and if the roots got damaged maybe a big pot would hold too much moisture. In any case I have a plant that the new leaf in the middle is very purple and its very healthy.just make sure you use pots that fits the root size and not the leaves.velleta

That doesn't look like fertilizer damage. On the contrary, it looks like a very healthy new leaf. Some phals produce new leaves that are reddish brown or purple to some degree, but mature to a normal green color.

How about showing a pic of the entire plant plus the media its growing in.this way we can see and stop guessing.velleta
