Oh Don,I love that one. Can anything in this world glom onto something with such intensity as a cat? It can be scary at times if they are staring at a spot right above your head. This cat is a smarty.

Thank heavens Kotie hasn't learned to flush, or she would! If I fail to close the bathroom door, she rushes in and tries to tap me on the butt in the erroneous belief that I will scootch over and let her stick her head in there while I go. I flush before I arise, and between the time I stand up and turn to get the lid closed, she's got her paws up on the seat, peeking in. We have to close the lids because she plays in the water. Twice now my husband has been "going standing up" and she's bolted into the bathroom, walked between his legs, put her paws on the rim and peeked in, only to get her head peed on. She'd do it a third time if she had the chance.

No, all lids must be closed in our house. We can't allow that game. Heaven help us if she ever figured out the flush mechanism, or the "fun" of TP...

    Fun video!

We had one, who also happened to be a black and white, that had a fascination with the toilet. Sitting on it was a big chore if the sitee was foolish enough to let her in. She would try to squeeze herself on the seat between the body and the tank or she would get up on the tank and lean. All the while she would be pushing for the occupant to get up and flush so she could watch.

She knew when we would be getting ready to go out and she would hide so she could stay in. All we had to do was flush the toilet and she would come running out from her hiding place. She never learned.

    thanks, that was a hoot!

No, all cats [except for Trina] were toilet trained, so I guess they equated that bowl with the sandbox. Calli figured out how to turn the tub faucet on, and then would sit on the drain [so the water couldn't run out] until it was deep enough for her swim up and down the tub. She's also the one who liked to join folks in taking a shower or a bubble-bath, which was a bit of a shock for first-time guests. DH1's Uncle V was not too happy when she mistook his chest hair for a terry towel to claw her way out of the water. Never before had I realized it was possible for a basso profundo to hit high G... Do not ask where her hind claws were.

I have a toilet kitty as well, or did have until she joined the inner sanctum of downstairs cats. I have upstairs/downstairs cats like gentry have upstairs/downstairs maids. Satiko never did flush, but she lived in the cupboard over the sink basin and waited behind the curtain overhead for humans to enter.

She didn't make an appearance until said human were at least partially unclothed, and preferably on the throne. Then a striped figure would become airborne.........and make her landing on the bare legs and thighs, or if in the mood shoulders of the unsuspecting. I once had to replace the sweatshirt of a houseguest who served as the landing strip for the cat.

Echo and Calvinette, the two upstairs cats like to visit the loo when it is empty and gaze at themselves in the reflecting pool of the toilet and dip in their paws and play.

Cats. You have to love them.

Thankd goodness none of them have learned to flush. The orange fuzzball loves the toilet and the new one upstairs is so constructed that he can stick his head all the way in and have his paws resting inside the bowl as it starts to fill. All you see is this big hairy orange rear sticking in the air with a happily waving tail. He has to have the sink water in the 1/2 bath turned on in a trickle for him to get a drink. I have to warn gusts, because he will out race you when he sees where you are heading and can knock you down. Or will sit outside and demand to be let it.
