Rudbeckia sp.

So instead of sunflower, coneflower.

i usually think of Echinacea as coneflowers and Rudbeckia as black-eyed-Susans

Super picture.

Echinacea and Rudbeckia are different genus withing the family Asteraceae.

Sunflowers are also in family Asteracaea, but they are in genus Helianthus.

All the same family, 3 different genus.

I thank you all for your comments. Best I can tell with some clicking around is that Rudbeckia hirta is generally called Black-eyed Susan, Rudbeckia triloba is frequently referred to as Brown-eyed Susan, and the other Rudbeckias tend to be called Coneflowers. I forgot to take a longer view of this one. Might that have made it possible to pin it down to the species level?
