Help!!

I bought an orchid for 1.29 in hope of saving it. The roots are very crispy and dry in places but they are still green. The leaves are green but are a bit limp and it is still flowering. Is this saveable and how do i save it? Please ignore the tacky mug, it is just to stop water dripping out of the bottom of the pot for now before I find something better to use.

Also part of one of the stems is snapped but it hasn't completely come off but there are still flowers on it.

Also I have another orchid and it has stopped flowering at the end of the stem has gone crispy and brown. Is this just the end of it's flowering time? How far should I cut the stem down? This orchid also has little bugs in the roots but I am getting some pesticide for them in two days time. Is this ok?
