I'm in Memphis (and like you I've had temps up in the 80's on top of a pretty mild winter) and mine have not started coming up yet. However, every year they manage to come back and when they do they grow like weeds for me.

It does help, Don! Thanks. I will keep looking for it to come back. I wondered if I had managed to kill a plant that is reported to come back like a weed. I sure am successful at growing those!!! LOL! Where I planted it is in between trees at the shadiest end of the pond and in front of a beautiful white hydrangea. Hope it comes back. I will let it just fill in there.

I just checked mine when I got home from work this afternoon. To my surprise mine are just breaking the water. Presently I have mine in a half whiskey barrel and in full sun for most of the day. So if you are in the shade, it may take a little longer for the soil to warm up.

Mine are planted in soil and I haven't seen them pop up yet.

I think it is finally emerging! Looked today and there are tiny little leaflets that do not resemble the weeds I have a vast abundance of (we have a wedding reception at our farm this weekend and I spent the entire day weeding and mulching around our 175-foot-long pond in preparation)! I hope it's Lizard Tail at least. Having never had it before, I am not good at identifying it.
