Not good, and I do not know, where do you have the plant over summer? Do the leaves on all the pseubobulbs/ canes look like that?
What about the underside of the leaves? That is the place for red/spider mite attack.
Now is the time for you to reduce watering and fertilizer to simulate the dry season where the ancestors grew.
How long have you had the plant and does it have a name tag?

The answers to Arthur's questions will help. I agree that it looks like you have spider mite infestation. While attached to the orchid, place one of the affected leaves between a white paper towel and wipe the bottom and top on the leaf with gentle pressure. If you see red or orange marks on the paper towel you have spider mites. I use Bayer 3 in 1, but it is not made for inside the house. You can you any pesticide of your choosing. The key is to check that it kills mites and insects. Also apply following the directions. You may need to apply every 7-10 days until the mites are gone. Spider mites are attracted to dry condtions. So think about where you are growing this orchid.

The other possibility is thrips. I've had thrip infestation on dendrobiums that present like this - silvery coating on the leaves that can't really be scratched off. Regardless, pesticides as described above should work

Thanks, all. I just went with either mites or thrips and sprayed with a non-toxic(to me) spray. It will be a while before I know if the patient recovers. It has been so hot and dry here for so long that I can't keep up with the constant misting, leaf cleaning that is required.
