Problem is she's selling everything this time of year. So by the time I'm ready to order, she's sold out of lots of types.

I first ordered from and visited Ram and Marissa Fishman in 1983. LOVELY people! Beautiful nursery with a very eclectic selection of collectable roses and antique fruit varieties. My Silvermoon is from them and they were the source of my first two Grey Pearls as Marissa was the only source of it in the world at that time. I can not recommend them highly enough. Though she was sold out of some of the varieties I was interested in, I still found four to order this year (spring). She doesn't ship in the fall, so it will be another year before there's another chance for any of her roses if you don't place a spring order.

By the way, what a lovely person she is on the phone! In just a few minutes' time, she becomes an old friend.

Noticeable bonus: the prices on shipping well-established plants all the way across the country seem to me like the ultimate good deal. I'm so glad to have found this nursery!

Welcome to the Greenmantle Fan Club, Mary! Marissa is a love. Ram, her husband, is as nice and gracious a gentleman as she is a lady. If you have any interest in antique fruit varieties, you want their full catalog to see the amazing collection they have gathered over the years. I haven't seen it in a few years, but they had everything from the Etters Strawberries, to stone fruit which were gorgeous. Ram grafts it on the specialized root stock to create the tree you need for your space, soil and climate. They've been around a very long time and are a wonderful resource, as well as being two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. When I visited there nearly 30 years ago, their children were young and still home. I was so wonderfully impressed how well mannered and behaved the children were. Everything was perfect and I was and have been very happy to spend money with them. First class all the way! Kim

I think I remember from their webpage that they *do* ship to all the states, including Florida, though some special arrangements need to be made for a couple of states that aren't contiguous. You might as well work up your order before phoning to reassure yourself that they will ship to you, though. :))

Marissa is absolutely delightful to talk to and is remarkably easy to work with. I can't imagine you stay in business as long as she has without being great at customer service, but she's definitely up there in terms of my favorite people to buy from.
