how many fish are likely to be in the end?

Last year i built a pond about eight feet by four feet two and a half deep put in my seven goldfish. So far I have three quite large babies and several smaller babies from a subsequent litter. I know not all babies survive poss parents or neighbor cat, how many am I likely to end up with in a pond this size, anyones experiences. Also is inbreeding a problem?

Except for issues like the cat etc., I would expect all of your current fish to survive. I would guess that subsequent production would be mostly eaten as eggs and tiny fish.

Hi
My 5x10x3 which has only had GF since 09 went from
8 to 104 . know that for a fact as I emptied it out to make repairs Difficult to see how many more i have as they are
mostly born black or dark brown plus waterlily has covered the entire pool . There are definitely some more though lol
Not sure about inbreeding but GF have been bred for soooo long they must all be related anyway?? lol
Interestingly when I first started the pool in 81,waterbirds
made keeping GF impossible so went to tropical fish . Wiped out in the winter of 09 so added feeder GF Don't think I've lost a one to any predator since.
Go figure ??? lol gary
