We finally had a nice day today. My water temp was 65 but I left my one poor lonely fish in the pond all winter so he has adjusted with the normal changes in temp. Will have to go get him some companions this week.

Hopefully you will be able to get your fish out in the pond soon.

How big is your pond? Have you considered a cover - at least for night time - to hold in the heat? Even if you covered it with clear plastic for just a few days/nights it would really help warm up the water. Then you could get the fish in and the lilies blooming. Something simple - a rope between 2 poles and plastic over it on cold nights would help alot.
Depending on how many fish, I'd put them outside (in the shade) in a 5 gal bucket on a cool day (above pond temp) and let the water temp drop for a few hours, then I would float it in the pond for an hour or so.

Think they will go out today. Yesterday was warmer and the pond was at 68F. Today it is supposed to go up to 74F although the temps drop at night. I think covering the pond would be a challenge as it is 18 ft long kinda peanut shaped and 10 feet wide at the widest point. Good suggestion though. I do have a stock tank heater but don't imagine it would do much can just picture the fish huddling around it during the night! My water lilies are at the surface and leaving out nicely. My pond is in full sun all day so that helps it's just the drop in temp at night that sucks. It's been dropping 12 to 15 degrees during the night.
