Is Bractaeta too Difficult to Control?

When transplanting a relatively small Bractaeta yesterday, I noticed that it was already begining to sucker and therefore I am wondering whether to let this big, thorny rose stay in my garden. I have quite a few Bractaeta already--some I propagated from shoots and others that were propagated naturally by layering. Since most are still in pots, they aren't much trouble, but six of the largest are already planted. If I leave them, can they be controlled by mowing or will they eventually become a nuisance?
