7 year anniversary!

I can't believe it's been seven years that the pond has been up and running but it has! The official anniversary is July 4th but we had rain all day (the remnants of "Arthur") so the photo is from July 5th. It's actually a panorama of 16 photos auto-stitched together in Photoshop.

Those are some huge slabs of stone! Is it limestone? Those weren't moved by hand I bet!

It is a very pleasing shape to my eyes. I love the whole landscaped area around the pond too.

None of the big stones were moved. They sort of arranged themselves that way over the past millennia or so! The whole back yard is granite ledge.

When I first moved in, 10 years ago, there were lots rectangular garden plots and such but I wanted a more organic look. Everything follows the lay of the land and the cardinal rule "don't fight the site"!
