Sorry to hear about the coons destruction. Fortunately though they go for the compost bucket to see what goodies are in there, they have been leaving my pond alone

May I recommend a Scarecrow water cannon? They do a pretty good job. If you would like some stories to make you feel better, do a search on this forum. The little monsters are inevitable and it is hard to know weather to laugh or cry.

Perhaps it's possible to net part or all of the pond with that black plastic bird net? The stuff is invisible at the water surface & is cheap & you can pick it up at any Lowe's.

Just a foot or so anchored around the perimeter surface might discourage them from prowling further into the water.

I have it S-hooked tightly on the edges of my stock tanks & haven't lost a goldie since. Dang coons used to love to go fishing in there.

I bought the "cat stop" at our local farm place and it has stopped the weekly raids that the raccoons were doing. They ate so many of my koi that my pond was their local diner. I point it across the pond but more down towards the shoreline cause the raccoons work their way down to the water so as soon as they get to the water the ultrasonic thing go off and the run away. When I pointed it straight across they worked their way under it. I know have 3 ponds and have one at each of them. I can usually tell when they have visited cause you can see the skid trail they leave of tore up plants and what not.
