Privet is invasive. Sure you want it? It can take over and even spread all over the surrounding properties.

Its not invasive here. My uncle has some and it hasn't spread anywhere in five years. So, yes, I'm sure I want it. No worries about surrounding properties, as I don't have neighbors for miles in all directions and am surrounded by corn and bean fields.

Still looking to confirm that it is okay to plant this time of year and any special care I need to take in watering, etc.

Bookjunky, it is known for being weedy or invasive but not prohibited that I know of. Easily spread by birds picking up the seeds so you may not see the effects close to home...
