With the description of the leaf, I would say that they used a Sacred Lotus which has big pink blooms. Either that or another fairly large lotus. They pretty much use whatever the supplier has. I gathered fresh seeds from the American Lotus when I lived in Florida. They sprouted pretty quick.

Hopefully we'll find out next year. I'll not hold out hope for flowers this year. :)

I would grow these just for the foliage alone. Now that it quite raining, the one leaf that had been holding water is now tilted. Water will just run off now. Darn, I really enjoyed watching it fill and dump.
