Acid Stained Concrete

We paved our patio with broken pieces of concrete and are in the process of staining them with Kemiko Acid Stain. Since the acid "stains" the concrete, do we really need to seal it with anything? Will the stain wear off in the high traffic areas? Thanks for any wisdom you can offer.

Didn't see it the first time:

The stain is a chemical reaction that penetrates into the concrete a short distance and bonds with it. It will wear off, but very slowly. The sealer will darken the surface and maybe bring out some added colors but it's not necessary if you like what it looks like unsealed.
