Frog question

Ok, so I have 2 small ponds. One for plants and one for fish. I pump water from the fish pond into the plant pond and a little stream runs from the plant pond back into the fish pond. I haven't had the pump on for a few weeks so the ponds are completely separate right now. None of that is really important I don't think but I was just giving a little back round.

The mud from the Lily that I removed and the fact that I never got around to covering the "plant" pond resulted in it being filthy. Well it was warm today so I decided to drain the plant pond and refill it. Well much to my surprise I found at least 4 frogs swimming around and I don't think they were too happy with me. Did I wake them from there hibernation? Will they be angry with the new water? And most importantly I netted the pond and now I'm scared that they won't be able to get out. Plus last year this pond froze solid. Will this be a problem for the frogs if it does it again this year?
