I live in Ithaca, NY. Recently I discovered in my front yard that my cherry tree has an apple growing on it. Only one, it's a little smaller then a tennis ball. It's still green, and I am wondering if it's going to ripen or what it is going to do. I find this very odd, I never knew an apple could grow on a cherry tree. Does anyone know how odd this is. This tree hasn't been altered or anything just growing on its own. I would upload a pic but it's too big for the dimensions this site recomends. If anyone is really interested I can try to have it resized. The tree is only about 8 to 10 feet.
