Betty, squirrels or chipmunks ate off everyone of my Marigold buds and blooms last summer. I was too late to do anything about it, but for other places where they were digging I put a few drops of PineSol. It stopped them immediately. I don't know if that would be good for the soil, but maybe a little put on some rocks strewn around would help. I am going to try that this year. Once the smell goes away for humans, the sq. can still smell it. I hope this helps for you.

Thank you woodlandgal. I am going to try that. That sounds like a really good idea. Most of the damage is done already but I'm going to get some this week. Last year I got rid of all my raspberry bushes as they ate all the berries off. I'm willing to try anything. Thanks Betty
