Hi, to answer your question, we did use the same wood floor throughout the whole level. The wood goes to the dining room, living room, kitchen and hallway. The wood floor is walnut Old Trail series with a glaze and wood pegs.

The mudroom floor was done in a natural limestone tile. There are no photos on here of the mud room, here is a link to our Facebook page which has one of the limestone. As you can see in the attached photo, we used the same wood on the seat in front of the lockers. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=243799638979403&set=a.243799168979450.81702.191531540872880&type=3&theater

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thank you so much for the information!

Additional question for you--how did you transition from the wood to the limestone in the mudroom?

The wood and the stone are at the same level since we used a Ditra membrane under-layment for the stone area http://www.schluter.com/6_1_ditra.aspx

Thank you. I think I may have asked the question incorrectly. What I meant was the transition from the wood to the limestone, on the surface--did you just grout the two materials together? or did you use a molding, like a T-molding? anything special? Thank you!

You're welcome! We're glad to help, we used a colored caulk joint to join the two materials.
