What kind of plants are you talking about?

Paul James from HGTV (The Gardener Guy) had a show yesterday in which he talked about different methods of protecting plants in winter. Burlap was one way but also plastic and remay. He suggested putting leaves inside 'the closure' for added protection.

I just did a quick search but couldn't locate that segment right away but he demonstrated a....um.....skirt??...for lack of a better word...that you can buy for the ultimate protection. Sorry I can't be more specific, if you do a search you can probably find it.

I am refering to broadleaf evergreens. I have been utilizing the anti-Dess/Burlap wrap method for years and I was not sure if anyone else had other methods that tolerates the temp flux in late fall and early spring without burning the plant.
