Chain saw starter rope size

Hi

I like to know chainsaw starter rope size of my 335XPT and 455 rancher/ Hasqvarna. I send E mai to Husqvana asking for rope size, Only responce I had was" We can not tell rope size to general public" Sherrill of North Calorina sell only one size of starter rope which is 4.5mm.

Small chain saw use thin starter rope, large chain saw 50CC up use large size rope, right?

4,5 mm starter rope works for all chain saw?

Dunno the sizes, but when the larger starter rope on my 041 Stihl Farmboss wore out, I replaced it with a generic starter rope that was noticeably smaller. Starts fine.

Chain saw starter rope comes in 5 sizes from 1/8"/3mm to 3/16"/5mm. 4.5mm rope is for larger saws in general. Pull your rope out and measure it near the bottom knot with calipers. Measure several places around and average the measurements, you should get close enough.
