Yess, especially if ya have boots with an aggressive tread pattern. but not for folks who insist in walking on snow covered surfaces wearing smooth soled dress shoes. And those types are just ready to sue you because they slipped and fell on your smooth snow covered sidewalk! I live near Pittsburgh, Pa., and read some stories of folks who did just that. And some did hire a leech attorney, who sued and got MONEY for them. (Yeah, we have them here in Pgh.) Nobody can prove or disprove a bad back caused by a fall on a slippery sidewalk, even though the folks who owned the sidewalk might still be in bed at 2:00 a.m. when the snow covered the walk! And thats why the stores sell lots of sidewalk and driveway salt, and also why the road crews are out there even before the snow starts to fall, spraying a liquid salt mixture on the streets, to try to stop or limit snow and ice build-up!
