Snowblower starts.........crawls........not full speed

Snowblower (8hp Tecumseh Snowking)--- finally got it started but the engine won't go full speed.in fact it crawls, so is not functional. We have a storm coming tomorrow night and I'm thinking it should go....any suggestions before I pull out the yellow pages????

Hi...follow-up....I had the snowblower picked up to be repaired and arranged to have the drive-way plowed. The do-it-yourself in me just got-up-and-went. I didn't have the patience or the time...this go around.

Sounds like a problem with the governer. Hopefully it doesn't cost too much to get fixed. Good luck.

Thanks, Joe. I hope it doesn't cost too much, either. The outlook for the next couple of months forecasts lots of snow, so hopefully it will be worthwhile.
