I just went outside and looked at my 6X8 GFGH and the panels still look brand new.

Any chance you live near an agricultural area? Drifting crop sprays can cause the damage you mention.

I live right in the middle of town. THe small holes 1/16" diameter look like the plastic melted. James

This is the 4th year with mu 6X8 HFGH see no problems on it. And even cleaned it with EasyOff Bam but put Kleenmaster Brillianize on it after. Still no problems.

I'm puzzled too, I sure haven't seen this on mine and I don't recall reading about this problem before.

This will sound goofy, is there a chance anyone has used a metal grinder near the greenhouse? Some kind of tool that would throw sparks landing on the poly?

Are the spots concentrated in one area (like something bad happened in one spot) or uniformly spaced throughout the panels (I wonder if polycarbonate can have flaws in the manufacturing process?)

'40' you are right about a substance being sprayed on your greenhouse's polycarbonate panels. There are quite a few chemicals that will breakdown polycarbonate i.e. gasoline and other petro chemicals. I think (and thanks to hobby-greenhouse.com info page) it may be mosquito repellant. Do you have mosquitos? If so... someone inadvertantly sprayed themselves to close to the greenhouse thus the holes etc.

I went and looked at the panels closer today and here is what I found. All the panels on the south side of the greenhouse have become brittle. THe holes are actually where the panels are cracking. Don't know why this is happening. James
