I'm not familiar with the new model numbers, but I have
a model 7-23 that I bought new in 1991 and it still works
great. But then again, I'm a preventative maintenance nut.
If you are a DIY repair person, don't expect any support
from Husqvarna, as far as repair manuals or parts diagrams,
as they are a 'go to your dealer' company.

Well, it's done. Beggars can't be choosers, and this seems to be the only machine available, so it's on its way, right before yet another storm.

So I now only want to hear good things about Husqvarna snow throwers.....

Here's an update.

I'm not so happy with this purchase. There seems to be something wrong with it, as it's not going into reverse. It also gets stuck a lot, with the wheels digging into the snow . I find it more difficult to manage than my old Toro, with clumsier controls, and it just seems a little wild and unbalanced. Yes, it's a powerful engine, but I'm not sure that it's actually any easier to clear snow than it was with my smaller machine.

Considering returning it, especially because of the issue with reverse.

Did you get this fixed? I was considering a 1830HV. Let me know what happened if you can. I'm also in MA

I decided to return it, and then got my old Toro fixed. I might decide to get a new one this fall, though.

My sense is that Husqvarna is making a lot of garbage these days, though I like my chainsaw by them.

Thanks for your input. I hear they are not easy to operate either. I just like them because of the high auger hood. Its nice to be able to suck in 23" of snow at once, esp. after last winter.

That attracted me to it as well. That was a rough winter!

Pick up a New Toro and you won't regret it .
