When I light up my clients homes, I find that the large open filament lamps are generally turned off. Here is some food for thought. 1. The large, open filament type of coach lights are often overly bright and cause a lot of uncomfortable glare to you and your guests as they approach the front of your home. I would instead opt for lighting that focuses on reflected light as opposed to direct area lighting. You have some great visual elements that could be highlighted nicely without creating uncomfortable glare. The columns would be a great starting point to illuminate from. I would place can lighting above each column since you have a flat roof. Illuminating down and onto the ground will give light for the pathway all the way to the door making it easier to identify visitors coming to your door as well as making it much more comfortable visually as they approach.

It would definitely not be too much. Take a photo of your hanging light to a lighting store and get some that would go with it well. It looks like a nice shaded lot, but if you get full afternoon sun on the front, then make sure you get a metal that doesn't fade.
