Restoring Old Troybilt Horse

I have acquired an old Troy-horse, everything is coming along OK but I can not find the model #, the orginal motor is gone and I have a replace 8hp Craftsman on it now, I am wondering if the model number can be found with just the serial number (I would like to get a copy of the owners manual & MTD website wants both SS & model #s) and question #2 is what size pulley is on the drive shaft from the motor and belt length? Thanks for your time & attention,

The old Garden Way machines did not have model numbers. At the MTD site use HORSE for the model and 1 for the serial number. I believe that will get you to their manual. If it is a Garden Way machine go to Yahoo and join the troybilttillerclub. You will find a lot of information and support there.
