I purchased a used pressure washer off Ebay, the pump had slung a rod through the pump case, the Honda looks to have about 10 hours use. I installed a new direct drive pump, the engine stopped after half a hour, The block was super HOT>> is it worth the trouble and cost to replace the rod and possible crank ? or just try to sell the trim from the engine, and move on ? Thanks for any comment and sorry about spelling :(

A rod is $70 for the GX 390, gasket kit $40

Get rid of it!! you can buy 3 rods and a gasket set,for the money you are about to spend on that overpriced crappy honda

Thanks that was my thinking except after changing oil I ran it about 20 hr's so if it's going to blow good bye honda...

That was an expensive lesson. I am guessing the previous owner started it without oil in the pump or engine. The connecting rod and crank are likely scored so it is only a matter of time.
