Did you remove the linkage? I have seen if they are swapped end to end, that the bends are in the wrong place. Also an engine model/serial nr? Did something hit the linkage to bend it?

Dig, Please post a close picture (with all matters showing) of your mounted linkage or the linkage close to where you feel it might mount. This could trigger some memories.

Thanks to all for responses. The last photo from baymee did the trick. The problem arose when front cowling was removed and reinstalled. If one is not careful on the reinstall, the throttle mechanism can flip upside down. This pic pinpointed the problem. Thanks again.

I have the exact chipper mulcher, bought it used, had some carb problems.. but it didnt come with the engine manual, would you happen to have one? or know any websites with the diagrams for it? I can only find the operators manual its the 462-465 models. I recently lost the little piece or rubber ring that goes into the tube for the needle on float bulb. so ideally would be nice if I could order a replacement part or carb rebuild kit, but i believe its too old. nothing on the mtd site.

our Small Engine Shops that have been in business for years (since the 70s). Some generic parts can be found at auto
stores. Please post a Picture where the
missing part should fit.
