Probably not worth spending much on it. Parts are hard to find and they tend to be cranky. There are much better brands on the market.

The Pro Mac 610 was one of the last half way decent saws Mac built. I ran one for 15 years, it cut good, was heavy, had to hold the trottle open on hot starts and every 3rd year or so had to clean the carb. Other than that no trouble with it. Steve

I am a huge fan of McCulloch Saws. My first saw was a Mini Mac, but after it lost compression I couldn't locate parts so i traded up to stihls and jonsereds. McCulloch went belly-up in the late '90s and sold the name to a Taiwan company who doesn't sell parts! Don't waiste your money... I guarentee you won't be able to get all the parts you need... even for a simple tune-up.

Not to change the subject but, I see on there web site that McCulloch is part of Husqvarna Group. I would think they would have a nice product since it's related to the Husqvarna name.

Husqvarna only owns part of the McCulloch name, and that is ONLY in Europe (basically Europe's Craftsman)... Jenn-Feng Industrial Co. owns everything else; & they currently only have a few chainsaws available- all built in Taiwan (not Sweden like Husqvarnas) Jenn-Feng totally abandoned any Pre-1999 McCulloch saws or thier parts.

Husqvarna recently purchased Jenn-Feng's share so now own Mac world wide.It will be interesting to see what they do with it.I doubt they will put their name on Mac product in north America but who knows.

Husqvarna is trying to ruin their name by putting it on some low quality products like the 141 chainsaw, same as a Poulan. It's kind of sick how many companys are using a good name to sell junk. Steve

It seems to happen all the time. I can't blame them there just trying to diversify and get the income from the low end of the market. When you a good company its smart to buy out your competitors when you can.
