Hello,
I have a Briggs Vanguard 18 HP that 2 years ago I put new on an old Deutz-Allis garden tractor. It starts & runs beautiful. It just doesn't seem to kick up to it's full potential, the throttle cable is pulling the "disc" as far as it will go. I can't find any kind of instructions on line as to the carb. The one screw I can find on top of the carb works wonders to increase the the high end RPM but at the same time the idle speed goes way up. There is another screw & under it is a screw that seems to be glued. If I lift up on the mechanism that is attached to a shaft coming from the block it purrs perfect. How can I get it to run like that just using the throttle?
Thanks
Ed
