DH and I were discussing working on the yard and beds next weekend. We have always used pine straw but he had someone recommend stained oak shreds instead. Can anyone here expand on the pros and cons. I am not sure and I am worried about bugs or termites. We checked some similar neighborhoods and only a couple of the homes used the oak mulch. Most had pinestraw out. I usually see the mulch around the beds of businesses.
