1million and higher candlelight power spotlights-good one???

hello all,

i seem to either have reallybad luck with these light or they just cant make a good one thay will last. i have a dorcy 1.5 that has a switch that doesnt function correctly+doesnt hold a charge as long as it should, and a 3 million that i bought for about 30$ that seems to already be loosing charge after a month or two and is no brighter than the 1.5. does anyone no of a reliable brand that makes these things to last.looking for atleast a 1.5 million candle power.

I got one from radio shack on sale for $4.95 1.5 million CP that is rechargeable. These Sealed lead acid batteries need to be fully recharged and not just run down, left to sit for a while, then recharged. That will kill them quickly.

If you want a serious light get and HID spotlight. Brighter than anything else out there and a seventy minute run time. About $130.

i got a 15 million watt power one from sams club lol. it also has led light built in for 26 bucks . heavy and will blind the heck out of you lol. good light

I bought a $20 dollar 'North Tech'quartz halogen 1 million at Menards on sale for $8.99,3 year warranty,in June 2005 .Its was used camping alot and got dropped hard a few times.Its bulky/top heavy,amazingly bright in the distances when in dark forest/woods, the batteries hold a charge continuosly as promised for up to 1 hour as far as I can tell.Quit working this last November,Menards exchanged it with a new one,
no problem.As with all warranties keep your sales reciept in a safe place.

PLEASE HELP. I BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE "NORTH TECH 1,000,000 QUARTZ HALOGEN SPOTLIGHTS AT MENARDS LAST YEAR AND CAN'T FIND THE CHARGER. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE VOLTAGE IT IS. AND OR HAVE THE 800- NUMBER OF THE COMPANY TO PURCHASE ONE. I THINK THEY CAN BE BOUGHT AT RADIO SHACK. THANKS ALEX

I bought a 10 M candle power from Norther Tools. This thing will light up your whole yard even with no moon. Comes in 15 M candle power now. They are in the $50 range. Worth it but don't think you will run it for more than 10 minutes. By then it will need a 15 hr recharge.

Alexander, Most likely your battery is 12 volts. Sometimes the bulb base has a voltage and wattage written on it you can read through the spotlight lens. The Radio Shack charger should work if it's big enough and the polarity is right and the plug is properly sized.

Hey you guys. Forget candlepower ratings. They mean absolutely nothing. The bulb wattage will give you a generally good idea of the brightness if the battery is good but the higher wattage runs down quicker. If you want to get serious just get a 35 watt HID spotlight. Now at Wal Mart for about $69. Brighter than anything out there and 3 times the run time. No filament to break either. Those so called 15 million candle power (Ha ha yea right!) halogens look like dim candles next to an HID spotlight.
