The reason that I thought that parts might be somewhat starndard is that I have seen plans for building your own splitter available on ebay etc.

I have heard that this company either went out of business or was bought out by MTD.

Hoses would not be a problem but any actuating valves or rams might be hard to replace. If so, it would probably be best to avoid a machine like this even if it is in good or excellent condition.

I build log splitter a long time ago back in sixtys if find hydraulic shop that one rebuild cylinder pumps and valves they can get what you need in parts. Large city will have this type place whoever build hoses can tell about these places. Cross prince cleveland vickers commerial Gresen weatherhead gates are some of names in this businesses bearing store would no of things to help.

Thanks for the information. I will feel more comfortable now since I know nothing about hydraulics but do have a hydraulic shop within 5-10 miles. They have been in business for many many years so will probly not go out of business.
