I am looking for ways to decorate/style this mantle. It is a little over 8' long & just about 3' to the ceiling. Do I center things over the fireplace or in the center of the mantle? It's so big that I don't want it to look cluttered with a bunch of things or look lost with too few items. Also, what to do with the wood storage opening to the side since it's a gas fireplace & we have no need for wood. I started putting my liquor there :) Thanks so much. Oh, I should also add that across from the fireplace are two chairs & a small coffee table.
