Alberta's are slow growers but you didn't say how high the wall is but to be certain I would move it out at least a couple more feet, depending on the "look" you were striving to acheive.

Perhaps "cute little tree" is misleading. . .

To illustrate: I bought a house, about 16 years ago with a "mature" dwarf Alberta spruce out back. . .since it was already bigger than any speciman I'd seen, I opted to retain it and use it as an anchor for the back garden. What an anchor! Turns out, the tree was
already 20 years old when I inherited it - add the last 16
years it's been under my care, and you have a "dwarf"
Alberta spruce that is a hefty six feet wide and well over
eight feet tall!

So, yes, I'd move it out from the wall a foot or more - and
if by "wall" you mean house wall, know that this is a speciman tree that looks its best standing alone, away from a structure, IMHO. . .

Also, depending on the exposure and material of the wall, you will get reflected heat from that wall which may burn the needles.

How many people have an alberta spruce that has survived more than a few years? Not I here in NY’s Hudson Valley. I gave up on them. How is the one the OP planted 16 years ago doing?? Aunt Lou ya still kickin’?
